For those who are curious, here's the step by step process of how a full exterior and interior detail of your car, truck, or suv goes!

Exterior Detailing:
Pressure Wash: The very first step in any mobile detailing process is the pressure wash. Using a high powered stream of demineralized water along with an electric motor, large contaminants such as bird droppings, dirt, mud, tree pollen, leaves and needles are removed from the exterior of the vehicle. During this step, it is vital to keep a safe distance from the vehicle so as to not damage the paint of the car, truck, or suv. It is also important to keep areas where there is chipped paint lightly touched so that further damage isn’t furthered. Our detailers pay special detail to high traffic debris areas such as the normal cracks and crevices of the vehicle.

Degreaser Rinse: Once the pressure washing step is complete, a degreasing may need to be used. A degreaser is used when there are obvious amounts of hard contaminants remaining on the vehicle such as hardened birth droppings, tar, or grime. A second brisk pressure wash may be needed to wash these away prior to the shampooing step. It is important to know that degreasers can remove waxes and sealants currently on the vehicle's paint. Reapplying any needed waxes or sealants is thus needed later on during the detailing process.

Shampooing: Here’s the fun part! The Shampooing Step! This is a continuation in the process of removing all non paint or coating material from your car, truck, or suv. To shampoo your vehicle, two methods can be used: the two bucket method or spray foam method. The two bucket method involves the use of two buckets: the clean bucket is full of water and soap, and the other is the rinse bucket which is full of water. This method is more of a hands on method, which can vary as needed depending on what your specific vehicle requires on inspection, and is used in conjunction with a hand towel. The spray foam method is where a jet of foam and water is lathered onto the vehicle from the top of the roof to the wheels. After both steps, dwelling is allowed to commence which washes away more foreign matter from your vehicle. Our experts will make sure your vehicle receives THE best mobile car wash Compton CA has to offer!

Drying: this step is probably the most overlooked yet one of the most important steps during any detailing project. If not done correctly, common mistakes such as swirls and water marks can be left behind and can be detrimental to the finished product. Before any drying is even started, it is important when rinsing after the shampooing step, a sheeting method is used which reduces the amount of water that needs to be dried off by carrying most of the excess water off the vehicle in continuous streams. Next, an air dryer or blower is used to drying areas where excessive water droplets occur. Once these are completed, then a plush drying towel is used to either pat dry or drag to complete the drying step.

Clay Bar Treatment: To remove the finer particles that are remaining on the outer coat of the vehicle's paint, further work is needed using a clay bar. A clay bar is exactly as it sounds: a bar of clay (okay really putty). The bar of clay is used to run across your vehicle's exterior so that it collects the finer imperfections that are embedded in your vehicle's exterior coat. To reduce inducing any scratching, a lubricant is used in conjunction with the clar bar. More clay is used as each bar of clay is saturated with contaminants

Polishing: Want that glossy, head turning look for your vehicle? This is the step in which you’re going to get that. During this step, any imperfections in the out coat of your vehicle's paint are masked or even removed using a rotary polisher/buffer along with a selected polish. This will allow your vehicle to get closer to achieving its original showroom look quality!

Sealant: Sealants are used to give added protection to your vehicles paint for up to 3 to 6 months at a time. They form a protective barrier around your car, truck or suv’s exterior paint so as to not allow any foreign contaminants from imbedding. Not only does it make it easier to maintain your vehicle, but it also adds more gloss to the finished product.

Waxing: For greater protection, a general wax is added to the exterior paint. Waxes add more long term protection against the elements including pollutants and tree sap. It adds that exceptional shine and turns everyone’s heads, and feels great to touch once applied. Cool thing is it also beads up water, so if you notice water collecting on your vehicle, that means it’s time for another round of wax to be applied.

Wheel and Tire: The tires and wheels can be the difference between a good detail and a great detail. We’ve all seen tires that have excess mud, brake dust, and grime accumulated on them. Unfortunately most people are used to this look and thus don’t realize their tires are NOT supposed to look like that. The tires and wheels go through the same process of pressure washing, degreasing, and shampooing as the rest of the vehicle. A bristle brush may be needed to clean the spokes of the wheel. Tire dressing is added as a finishing touch to rejuvenate the tires back to their original dark black coloring.

Exterior Trim: Continuing with getting the perfect detail for your vehicle, here is another important area that can get quite neglected: the exterior trim. These areas, which are typically plastic such as the front and back bumpers and stepping rails/pads, can fade over time. After all the other detailing steps are completed, a generous lather of dressing is applied to darken the exterior trim back to its original vibrant color!

Window Cleaning: Getting your windows cleaned on the exterior and interior is necessary for any great detail. Your windows should be clean and maintained so that you can drive the vehicle during the day and night with minimal obstructions. Most window obstructions such as bird droppings, pollen, condensation, oils, and water marks are removed during the general detailing washing process. The added touch for the windows is use of a general glass cleaner that is ammonium free and claying. After the windows have been thoroughly cleaned with the glass cleaner and treated with a clay bar, a small thin layer of wax can be added for additional protection.

Interior Detailing
Why get the interior detailed? Where do most of your passengers stay when it comes to your car? Inside. A thousand words can be sad about you just off of the inside condition of your car. You deserve to enjoy a vehicle that is clean, smells great, and is well maintained on the inside. As the best mobile detailers in the Columbus, GA area we pride ourselves in giving the same detail inside as outside!

Carpet Cleaning: Your vehicle’s carpet takes a beating everyday from your shoes, food, and spilled beverages (yes we’ve all been there). To clean the carpets and mats of your car, truck, or suv, they are first vacuumed and then a fabric cleaner is applied to erase any remaining stains that are present. The carpet and mats are then scrubbed and then allowed to dry.

Seat Cleaning: No one wants to sit on a dirty seat that is stained. No ifs, ands, or buts about that. To clean the seats, a general seat cleaner that uplifts the stains in the seats along with a vacuum are used. If your vehicle has leather, then a leather conditioner is applied afterwards so as to loosen and and prevent it from drying out.

Interior Trim: And FINALLY, the finish off a great detail, the interior trim of the vehicle is taken care of. The interior trim loses its shine over the years, so a general cleaner and UV protectant is used to reinvigorate it back to its original showroom quality!
